Is Thailand Getting Its Own F1 Race?
Thailand’s cabinet approved a bid worth roughly THB40 billion (about US$1.2 billion) to host a Formula 1 street race in Bangkok, targeting a five-year deal starting in 2028. The proposed circuit would run through the Chatuchak district, north of the city center.
This is a proposal, not a confirmed race. Formula 1 and the FIA have not added Bangkok to the calendar yet, and the circuit still needs FIA Grade 1 homologation before any race can happen. Road and construction work is reportedly expected to start in 2026, with an announcement possible before the end of the year if the bid moves forward.
