How to Be Hassle Free with Utility Payment by Automating Them All

In Thailand, you can automate many payments even without a credit card. Here’s how.

Many utility payments, including electricity, water, and internet provider bills, can be paid automatically through your Thai bank account, saving you money on those pesky third-party payment fees.

All you need to do is to prepare:

  • An application (available online or at the service provider)
  • A copy of the first page of your bank passbook
  • Your most recent invoice

To set up automatic payments on your water bill, go to your water authority, such as the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan, or the Provincial Waterworks Authority in other provinces, or check with a participating bank branch. For electricity, you can go to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan, or the Provincial Electricity Authority in other provinces.

For internet, just go to any service provider branch and they will take care of it for you.

In case it’s a SSO payment, you can visit your local Social Security Office or check SSO’s current payment channels, since available methods depend on your insured status and payment type.
