Preparing for an Interview in Thailand

An interview in Thailand is similar to an interview in any part of the world.

You need to dress respectably and talk politely to the interviewers.

Your resume is usually the main document you need for the interview. Bring three copies of it since you might see more than one interviewer.

Diplomas, transcripts, certificates, and other supporting documents may be requested, especially if the job requires specific qualifications or you have limited work experience.

The questions you’ll be asked during the interview will be based on the company you apply to work at.

Some interviewers may start with basic questions about your background. Some may go directly into work-related questions.

Some interviewers may ask questions focusing on your character and attitude. And some interviewers may test your skills.

To effectively prepare for an interview, you should carefully study the company, including its core business as well as its expectations for the position you are applying for. In addition to that, they may even ask general questions on how you go to their office, your marital status, as well as your future plan. You don’t need to share personal information you are uncomfortable with unless it is relevant to the job or hiring process.

It’s okay to ask directly about the benefits you are getting, such as health insurance plan, expected salary, and annual leave. However, the main conversation should be about what you can do to improve the company.

You should hear back from your interviewer a few days after the interview. It may take longer for large corporations to get back to you.

If you’re not the right candidate, some companies may not get back to you.

If you don’t hear back from the company, it’s still acceptable to contact the company after a few weeks to find out your results.
