Truly unlimited mobile data does exist in Thailand now, from THB1,199 a month. If that’s too steep, a port-in deal gets you 70GB at up to 20Mbps for THB399 and then keeps you online at a slower speed until the bill resets.
Most cell phone plans in Thailand still come with a full-speed data allowance. Once you use it up, the plan keeps you online but slows you down, usually to somewhere between 1Mbps and 6Mbps on today’s monthly plans, and as low as 384kbps on some prepaid packs.
You can get plans with unlimited internet, though. The two big networks sell genuinely unlimited full-speed plans, and the best-value deals are hidden in their moving plans.
