How to Get Free Yet Fast Wifi in Thailand

The mobile data from your internet package might not be enough to carry you through your internet usage every month.

And running out of internet usage isn’t something you really want to happen, especially if you’re in a jam.

You may be completely cut off from the online world. Or your internet will be so slow that your phone will basically be useless.

But did you know you can connect to free wifi throughout Thailand, especially in the cities?

The connection is good, with average speeds of 50 Mbps, both upload and download. In certain places, the speed is over 100 Mbps.

It can save you tons of internet data, especially if you regularly work outside of your home or office.

All monthly plans from TrueMove H, Dtac, and AIS come with unlimited wifi packages.

And you can find wifi in most shopping malls, universities, government offices, airports, and even walking streets.

The best parts about this free internet is that you don’t need to remember password anymore. Instead, once you enter your phone number, you will receive an OTP to access your free internet.

AIS

AIS is the best wifi provider. Their internet speed is more stable than the other two. Many times they are the only network you can connect to in certain places.

In addition, AIS has more coverage areas in universities, and even immigration offices.

The SSID from AIS is .AIS SuperWifi.

After a successful connection, you’ll be redirect to their login page where you can enter your phone number as a username. Password will be sent to you via an OTP.

You can also connect to wifi from AIS automatically with their AIS SMART LOGIN SSIA. You can manually connect with a similar username and password.

Truemove H

Truemove H is the second best free wifi.

Although the coverage area isn’t as great as AIS, their free wifi is available in every 7–11. But the connection speed isn’t as good as at department stores.

The SSID from Truemove wifi is .@Truewifi.

truewifi

After a successful connection, you’ll be redirected to their login page where you can enter your phone number as username.

You can also connect to wifi from Truemove H automatically with their .@Truemove H.

Dtac

Dtac has the least amount of coverage areas. The connection stability is also worse than AIS and True. But their wifi at big department stores is sometimes good.

The SSID from Dtac is .dtacwifi

After a successful connection, you’ll be redirected to their login page where you can enter your phone number as a username.

You can also connect to wifi from Dtac automatically with their .dtac wifi auto SSID.

In 2023, Dtac was completely taken over by True.
