Saving Money with Credit Cards in Thailand

Having a credit card in Thailand isn’t only convenient but it’s also a great way to save money with discounts, free items, cash back, and other promotions.

Here are banks in Thailand and the benefits they offer:

Bangkok Bank

Bangkok Bank tends to have special deals with partner hospitals and healthcare providers. Deals can include health checkup offers, cash back, or discounts, depending on the current promotion.

Kasikorn Bank

Kasikorn Bank has regular credit card promotions with merchants such as cinemas, shopping malls, and travel websites. Promotions usually come in the form of point redemptions, where you use credit card points to get discounts on purchases.

SCB

SCB Bank runs dining promotions with various restaurants. Discount amounts vary by restaurant and campaign.

KTC (Krungthai Card)

KTC credit cards, issued by Krungthai Card, have regular promotions related to traveling, including travel insurance benefits on eligible cards and discounts on flights, hotels, and car rentals.

Krungsri

Krungsri credit card is suitable for those who love shopping. It often has campaigns for 0% installment payments, discounts, and cash back promotions.

Waiving Credit Card Fees

Many credit cards in Thailand have annual fee waiver conditions, such as using the card a minimum number of times or spending a minimum amount during the year.

However, this is not always the case.

If you do not meet the minimum requirements, you may still be able to avoid the annual fee. Just call their call center and ask for a fee waiver.

In many cases, they may waive the fee.

Credit Card Comparison Websites

You can look up Thai credit cards and their benefits and requirements using a credit card comparison website such as masii.

One reason to check out masii’s credit card comparison website is that it offers some information in English.

As with any comparison site, it may not list every card or every feature, so check the bank’s website for the latest conditions before applying.
